Even when you didn’t want to sleep at all, every time nodding your head back up?
This young man tried very hard to stay awake but luckily for Helga he failed…
This sculpture resembles a rough diamond that has not been fully cut and polished. The irregularities and texture on the surface give it a sense of authenticity and raw beauty. The subtle details, such as the sharp lines of the jaw and the soft curves of the lips, capture the essence of human expression in a moment of stillness. The yellow hue of the material exudes warmth, while the black pedestal provides a contrast that makes the head rise like a monument of subdued strength. This sculpture radiates a sense of timeless elegance and depth, inviting the viewer to explore the complexity and diversity of the human spirit.
The head is made of orange pigmented plasticrete, a synthetic plaster. The bluestone base is connected to the head with an iron bar.

Soraya, the princess
2022Soraya is an Arabic girl name of Persian origin. The meaning is 'good queen' or 'princess'. It was the name of the second wife of the last shah of Iran. While unmoulding the artwork, the artist has hurt her hand. Her blood at the work inspired her in the choice of the patina. The face of Soraya has remained white and is finished with a polish of wax, the rest of the portrait has been colored with pigments in wax.

First date #1
2021'First date' is inspired by the painting 'Pretty in pink', which is also the title of the film. The sculpture is cast in a pigmented acrylic resin, then further finished with professional highly pigmented paint in shades such as pink, orange, yellow and brown. As a final coat she was given a layer of varnish. Helga uses the brush as she would paint it on canvas. She brings the image to life with precise, fine strokes.

Serenity
2021The artist has used one of her paintings as inspiration for this sculpture. A portrait of a young girl, sereen, dreamy and subdued. The bust is made of a synthetic cast and coated with an oriental green patine in high pigmented acrylics and varnished.
Serenity 2.0
2021This work is a sequel of 'Serenity'. The same material, different colors. This gives the sculpture another dimension. The patina consists of gray and ultramarine blue, you can also detect hints of color of orange, yellow and green.
Serenity 3.0
2021This sculpture is based on the hair of the girl from 'A ray of light'. The tones of brown, red-purple and golden yellow give an impression of chocolate. Although this girl is so cute that you could eat her, she is not edible. The statue is cast in a pigmented acrylic resin. Then patinated with paint and varnish.
Markus
2020The artist named the artwork Markus, a strong name for a strong man. Portuguese eyes, an asymmetrical nose, soft lips hidden under a robust beard. A powerful head for a proud man. This character head is picturesquely sculpted, molded in pigmented plaster and finished with pigments and beeswax. A unique portrait.

This piece is made of aluminum cement. The skin has a thin layer of plaster on different sides. It is a kind of unique thanks to the moulding process of different layers of aluminum cement. There is only one piece of the 'Black bird' in aluminum cement.
