My own hands come together to form a bird.

Seen from another angle, or simply through its shadow, what first appears to be two hands becomes a bird with outstretched wings. One wing is broken, yet the bird is still ready to fly.

For me, this work is about freedom and continuing towards something you truly long for. Not because the journey is easy, or because you come through it untouched, but because a broken wing does not have to mean that you can no longer fly.

You can fall, begin again, find another way and still move closer to where you want to be.

The hands are my own, which makes this a deeply personal work: my own path towards freedom, shaped into a bird that, despite everything, still opens its wings.
