She stands at the edge of unveiling -
half caught in velvet shadows, half glowing in the hush of light.
Not hidden, not revealed.
Only suspended…
like a thought you almost remember
or a truth that lingers just behind the breath.
The curtain ripples -
a living wall of crimson, teal, and rose -
like emotions draped in silk,
trembling with all the things not said.
Her dress, a tapestry of time and tenderness,
seems stitched from dreams,
from fragments of memory and secret fire.
She does not pose.
She simply is -
present, open, uncertain, brave.
There’s a hush in her stance,
a quiet courage,
as if she is waiting not to be seen,
but to be witnessed.
This is not the moment before the performance.
This is the moment.
When the heart steps forward
without needing permission.
This work won the fourth place in the big painting competition of the magazine Atelier July /August 2018
