The family...
2022A family portrait carved in time. This bas relief gathers nine figures, the parents and their seven children, held in a moment that has quietly outlived the decades. The gentle green surrounding them whispers of the world they once knew: wide fields, quiet forests, endless afternoons where the earth itself felt like a playground. A time when nature was not something you visited but something you belonged to. In these sculpted faces lives the echo of growing up close to the land, the freedom, the simplicity, the quiet certainty of being rooted. It is a tribute to childhood as it once was, unhurried and open hearted, shaped by wind, light and the soft presence of the natural world. This piece does not only remember a family. It remembers a way of being.
First date #1
2021'First date' is inspired by the painting 'Pretty in pink', which is also the title of the film. The sculpture is cast in a pigmented acrylic resin, then further finished with professional highly pigmented paint in shades such as pink, orange, yellow and brown. As a final coat she was given a layer of varnish. Helga uses the brush as she would paint it on canvas. She brings the image to life with precise, fine strokes.
First date #2
2021First date' is inspired by the painting 'Pretty in pink', which is also the title of the film. The statue is cast in an acrylic resin. It has been given a golden shine and is finished with a varnish.
